AAP Party Ignores Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s Niece and Fields A Rich NRI

Jasvir Singh Gill, AAP candidate from Urmur, is a rich transporter from the region. Formerly an NRI, he was once a close aide of Congress MLA Sangat Giljian. AAP workers said the party ignored Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s niece Bibi Gurjit Kaur and fielded Gill instead.

Gurpreet Singh Gora, a former councillor who runs a business of agri-implements. is AAP candidate from Zira. Once a confidant of local Akali leader Avtar Minna, Gora was also considered close to Congress leader Inderjit Singh Zira. He is also close to radical Sikh leader Balwant Singh Nandgarh. Raman Kumar, AAP candidate from Chabbewal, has a motorbike agency. Dalbir singh Tong from Baba Bakala is another rich AAP candidate.

Kin of a Congress MLA, relative of a BJP minister, wife of a former Akali minister, a relative of Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi candidate and several money bags dominate the AAP’s fourth list of candidates released on Saturday.

Arshad Dali, who has been fielded from Malerkotla, is brother of Congress MLA Razia Sultana and brother-in-law of Muhammad Mustafa, DGP (Punjab State Human Rights Commission) who is considered close to Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh. Dali is also a close aide of AAP’s state convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich.

Deepak Bansal, AAP candidate from Bathinda segment, is the nephew of AAP candidate from Rohini in Delhi, Chiranji Lal Gupta. He is considered close to AAP leader H S Phoolka.

Sarabjeet Kaur, party nominee from Derabassi, is the wife of late finance minister Captain Kanwaljit Singh of Akali Dal. Her nomination has angered active party volunteers who worked hard during the Lok Sabha elections and helped elect Dr Dharamvira Gandhi. Kaur joined AAP three months ago.

Ramesh Grover, fielded from Moga, is former president of Moga Bar Association. He was with Congress and contested MC elections unsuccessfully. He is considered a rich candidate.
