Ready to talk with Pakistan on ‘Three Condition’s: Sushma Swaraj

On January 2, 2016, six heavily armed terrorists entered India from Pak border and attacked an Indian Air Force base in Pathankot. It was not a terrorist act but an attack on India. The attackers had used the soil of Pakistan to plan and prepare for this attack. They were helped by terrorist outfits based in Pakistan, and aided by the Pakistan military. Even during the attack the terrorists remained in touch with their leadership in Pakistan. Therefore Pakistan was equally responsible for this attack. The gun battle and the subsequent combing operation lasted about 17 hours on 2 January, resulting in five attackers and three security personnel dead.

Since then the bilateral relations between two countries have gone down the drain. Pakistan has continued its age-old policy of supporting cross-border terrorism in India, especially Kashmir Valley. At the same time it is shouting hoarse that India is just not talking to either Pakistan or the separatists in Kashmir. It is also trying to tell all and sundry and specially those who will listen that the tension between the two countries has the potential of turning into a nuclear war.

Taking a dig at Pakistan, during a Press Conference, VBExternal Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj clearly stated said that New Delhi doesn’t spend extra time and energy on Islamabad as it just like ‘any other country’. India was not burning any midnight oil on Pakistan was already a set foreign policy for Islamabad.
This foreign policy for Pakistan was based on three pillars: resolve all issues through dialogue, dialogue will be bilateral only and talks can’t go simultaneously with terror,

The Minister said that India was always ready for bilateral talks when all the three prerequisite conditions of Indian policy towards Pakistan are met. As per her India is always ready for the talks. This was evident when Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was invited at the swearing in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This hand of friendship was kept extended for two years. Even, PM Modi took out of the box initiative to fly down to lahore to meet Nawaz Sharif. However in return came Pathankot attack after one week of PM Modi’s visit.

Though it seems Pakistan still has not got the full message. It is still living in the past and false hope of Uncle Sam intervening on its behalf. Pakistan does not know that US has been categorically asked to make its stand clear on Pakistan. India will now act as it deems fit and already it is evident in Kashmir.
Central Govt is ready to talk to political parties and all others who have faith in Indian Constitution. It has categorically stated that Separatists have no place in such talks, no matter to whom they go and appeal ….UN, China, Europe or Uncle Sam.
