Two 16-year-old Muslim boys in New York were taking a break from their late Saturday evening prayers when they spotted a woman sitting by herself in a parked car.

Like most boys their age, they expressed interest in the woman and began hitting on her, but refused to take no for an answer when she denied their unwanted advances on her, even attempting to gain access to her vehicle by opening doors and sticking their heads in the window.

After having harassed the lone woman for nearly a half-hour, the boys were spotted by the woman’s boyfriend, who let them know in no uncertain terms exactly what “no” means by beating both of them up, according to the New York Daily News.

Police looked into the matter but quickly determined that the assault was not a “hate crime” resulting from the attacker’s bias, but merely a protective boyfriend getting rid of two punks who were harassing his woman.

“The hate crimes unit investigated it and determined that this incident is not a hate crime,” said NYPD spokesman Sgt. Brendan Ryan, who made clear that the assault is otherwise still under investigation.

Of course, the local chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations is demanding that the incident, which occurred outside the Madine Muslim Community Center, be investigated as a hate crime, and are demanding that the assailant be arrested and charged to the fullest extent of the law.

CAIR states that the assailant called the two boys “terrorists” and blamed everything wrong in the world today on Muslims.

In all likelihood, the man probably didn’t even know the boys were Muslims, nor would he have cared, as he seemed more interested in keeping his girlfriend safe from two guys he saw harassing her.

Surveillance video of the incident showed the man punching, throwing to the ground, kicking and stomping one of the offending young punks, while chasing the other out of range of the camera.

The boy who took the brunt of the beating ended up in a local hospital with cuts, bruises, swelling and a concussion, while the other suffered only a black eye.

While the man who whopped the snot out of these two young punks should certainly be held accountable for assaulting them, that is where his trouble should end, as there is no way to prove he held a bias towards the youngsters, and all evidence points to his merely using great force to defend his girlfriend from two guys that were harassing and threatening her.
